Guiding you through the wilderness of East Africa
Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Meru, Mt. Kenya, Zanzibar, Ngorongoro and much more
In Swahili, Tanzania means “journey.” And indeed it is the land of many journeys – whether it is in the wilderness of our national parks, on the “roof of Africa” on top of Kilimanjaro, visiting a tribal people or on our white beaches on Zanzibar.
At 5,892m, Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest free standing mountain in the world. The mountain lies within Kilimanjaro National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. What is so amazing about that is it is one of the few places on earth that hosts every ecological life zone – tropical jungle, savannah, desert and various plants and forest life.
Tanzania’s game viewing is considered one of the best in Africa. Endless herds of wildebeests and zebras cross the plains on their annual migration. Predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas follow in their trails. Elephants, giraffes, rhinos and many different birds also live in the parks.
Also, don’t forget about the mainland coast and Lake Victoria, as well as finding time to immerse yourself in the culture – to meet the Swahili people and Maasai tribes. Tanzania is a melting pot culture – a visit reveals secrets of agriculture, cuisine and tradition.
For a relaxing break, do not forget the many beaches in Zanzibar.
